The award is giving for excellence in dual credit instruction.

(Batesville, Ind.) - Batesville High School (BHS) teacher Cathy Martini has been named the 2025 recipient of the President’s Award for Excellence in Dual Credit Instruction by Ivy Tech Community College – Lawrenceburg/Batesville.
Martini currently teaches dual credit business, marketing, and accounting classes, which lead to a Business Administration certificate from Ivy Tech.
“As a former accountant and experienced business leader, Cathy Martini has designed an experience-based business curriculum for our students,” said Andy Allen, BHS principal. “Her unique perspective shapes the acumen of her students, preparing them for the professional world they will enter.”
"I’m honored to be recognized by Ivy Tech,” Martini commented. “Our students have such great opportunities to earn college credit, and I’m grateful to contribute by teaching dual credit business classes. I’m also proud to represent BHS. Our dedicated teachers work hard every day to provide meaningful learning and experiences. While we don’t do it for the awards, hearing ‘Well done’ is appreciated and affirms the effort we put in."
Batesville High School and Ivy Tech’s dual credit partnership allows current BHS students to enroll in college courses within the high school, free of charge. Dual credit courses fulfill high school graduation requirements and provide college credits in real time.
