(Batesville, Ind.) – There are plenty of great high school principals in southeastern Indiana, but only one could be chosen as District 10 High School Principal of the Year.

The Indiana Association of School Principals (IASP) gave the award to Batesville High School principal Andrew Allen at their annual Fall Professional Conference on November 18, reports The Batesville Herald Tribune.

Allen won the award over other high school principals in 10 counties, including Dearborn, Decatur, Fayette, Franklin, Hancock, Jennings, Ripley, Rush, Shelby and Union counties.

Along with the District 10 honor, Allen was up for the 2018 State High School Principal of the Year award, which ended up going to Bremen High School’s Bruce Jennings.

Allen said achievements at Batesville High School are a testament to the efforts put forth by teachers, students and community stakeholders.
