Beshear Wins Re-Election

Steve Beshear

(Frankfort, Ky.) – Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear will be in office another four years.

 

The incumbent Democrat easily won re-election Tuesday night by a large margin over GOP challenger David Williams with 56 percent of the statewide vote.

 

Williams, president of the Kentucky Senate, the  did get the edge over Beshear in Boone County, 51 to 46 percent.

 

Independent Gatewood Galbraith came in a distant third at the polls.  Galbraith and running mate Dea Riley had predicted a second-place finish. 

 

Democrat Attorney General Jack Conway held his ground against Republican Todd P'Pool, 55 to 45 percent.
