Batesville FFA Performs Well at State Convention, Brings Home Two State Wins

The 93rd FFA Convention took place June 13-16 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds.

(Batesville, Ind.) – Batesville FFA has a lot to be proud of after their performance at the 93rd State FFA Convention.

Five members were awarded for their accomplishments in their Supervised Agriculture Experiences, including two state winners.

Jason Emsweller and Josh Honnert captured first place in Turf Grass Management and Diversified Ag Production, respectively.

Three others were awarded for their accomplishments in their Supervised Agriculture Experiences.

  • Paul Meer – 4th in Forage Production
  • Blake Belter – 2nd in Diversified Horticulture
  • Anna Bergmann – 2nd in Specialty Animal Production

Other top performers included:

  • Jason Emsweller, Kaitlyn Sarringhaus, Onika Struewing and Brooks Werner earned the State FFA Degree, the highest degree the state of Indiana can bestow on its members.
  • Kaitlyn Sarringhaus – 4th in Employability Skills Leadership contest
  • Blake Belter and Onika Strueing – 2nd place for Horticulture Demonstration on plant propagation.

In addition, Strueing and Sarringhaus were elected to serve on the District XII Officer Team. Strueing will serve as vice president, while Sarringhaus was elected sentinel.
