(Aurora, Ind.) – Aurora Police responded to a bloody crime scene at an apartment on Conwell Street Monday afternoon.

Eli Mitchell Ramey, 23, was allegedly intoxicated when he attacked Brian “BJ” Cooper with a steak knife in Ramey’s apartment at 201 Conwell Street, officers said in a sworn court affidavit.

Following that attack, Cooper ran to an apartment next door belonging to Christopher Harrell.

“Harrell stated that blood was gushing from Cooper’s arm,” officers wrote.

Ramey immediately followed into Harrell’s apartment holding the knife. Harrell struggled with Ramey and was cut on the hand.

Ramey fled back to his apartment when he was told that police had been called. He was soon arrested.

Two other witnesses to the attacks claimed that Ramey had been in an intoxicated state, acting belligerent and breaking beer bottles over his own head.

Ramey is charged with Battery with a Deadly Weapon (Class C felony), Intimidation (Class C felony), and two counts of Battery Resulting in Bodily Injury (Class A misdemeanor). He is held at the Dearborn County Law Enforcement Center on a $150,000 surety bond.
