Aurora Woman Accused Of Trafficking Drugs Into New Castle Correctional Facility

(New Castle, Ind.) - A Dearborn County woman is facing drug related charges after allegedly bringing a package containing methamphetamine to an inmate at the New Castle Correctional Facility. 

Samantha Meyer-Bruner, 36, Aurora, Ind., was arrested on January 10 after information was given to the Indiana Department of Correction (IDOC) regarding the woman trafficking drugs into the correctional facility. 

During the investigation of Meyer-Bruner's visit, a package containing suspected methamphetamine was recovered.

Meyer-Bruner was arrested and is being held at Henry County Jail.

She has pending charges of Dealing Methamphetamine (Level 3 Felony), Conspiracy of Dealing Methamphetamine (Level 3 Felony), and three counts of Trafficking a Controlled Substance with an Inmate (Level 5 Felony).

Warden Mark Sevier commented, "Trafficking of any nature can create hazards for other offenders as well as our hard-working employees." Warden Sevier concluded, “We do not tolerate trafficking of any substance into our facilities and will aggressively work to prosecute any person who traffics to the fullest extent possible."

Formal charges will be determined by the Henry County Prosecutor’s Office.
