Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be available for the community until "the need disappears."
(Aurora, Ind.) - The Heart House has been a supportive resource for the community for the past 18 years and continues to do so during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Starting today, Heart House will be offering the Community Meal Program to feed those in need.
"It is our opportunity to continue to serve the community. We see a need, and we've got the ability to meet that need. That's what we want to do," says Heart House's Craig Beckley.
Many families and individuals are suffering from the impact of the coronavirus and the lack of employment or income. To provide assistance to these community members, three meals a day (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) will be served both in-house or take-out.
Take-out meals will be provided to anyone that calls one hour before meal times and let them know how many meals are needed. This will allow enough time to prepare the adequate amount of meals.
Meals will be served at:
- Breakfast - 6:30 to 8:30 a.m.
- Lunch - 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
- Dinner - 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.
This Community Meal Program is completely free; however, if you would like donate to the cause, you may do so. Monetary donations will also be accepted over the phone by calling (812) 926-4890.
"We're all going to make it together," says Beckley.
