AUDIO: Greendale Mayor Weiss Hints At Re-Election Bid

Greendale Mayor Alan Weiss was on Eagle Country 99.3 on Friday talking about city issues.

(Greendale, Ind.) – Greendale Mayor Alan Weiss isn’t tipping his hand on whether he will run for re-election in 2019.

In an interview on Eagle Country 99.3 Friday, Bubba Bo pressed the first-term mayor on his political future.

“All the elections are over, except in Florida, of course. I think everybody has kind of had it up to here with politics for now. We’ve got the holidays in front of us. I think for now I am just going to concentrate on the holidays and family and things like that, then maybe around the first of the year I’ll make it official on what my plans are,” said Weiss.

He added that there are good things going on in Greendale he would like to "see go through to the end."

Weiss was elected as an independent candidate in 2015, winning a three-way race against Republican and Democratic candidates.

No candidates have publicly announced their intentions to run for Greendale mayor next year.

Mayor Weiss also talked about Greendale’s response to Thursday’s ice storm, a new traffic signal coming to U.S. 50 at Flossie Drive, and other local topics. Listen to the full interview in the audio player below.
