(Dearborn County, Ind.) – A Dearborn County man with an active felony warrant was taken into custody after a two-hour standoff.

Dearborn County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a Fairway Drive apartment in Lawrenceburg on Thursday for a report of domestic violence.

Upon arriving at the scene, deputies say they observed a male attempting to conceal himself in a bathroom.

The male, identified as Jeffry McBride, was wanted on an active felony warrant for Intimidation.

According to a news release Friday, deputies learned that McBride was in possession of an “AR” style rifle during Thursday’s standoff.

Communication with McBride resulted in him exiting the residence and being taken into custody without incident. Nearby residents were evacuated or sheltered in place during the standoff.

McBride was booked into Dearborn County Jail on Friday on one count of Intimidation.
