Area Students Earn Service Academy Nominations from Congresswoman Houchin

Four area students are one step closer from admission.

WASHINGTON – It was a big day for a handful of of area students. 

Today, Congresswoman Erin Houchin (R-Ind.-09) announced nominations for the United States Service Academies.

After reviewing applications and conducting interviews, Congresswoman Houchin nominated 18 young men and women from across the Ninth District.

While a nomination does not guarantee admission, nominations are required to be eligible for entrance into a service academy.

“It’s my honor to nominate this impressive group of students to serve in our U.S. Service Academies. These young men and women from Bedford to Rising Sun have demonstrated tremendous potential and would make great additions to the U.S. Air Force, Military, Merchant Marine, and Naval Academies. Indiana’s Ninth District is lucky to have them!” said Congresswoman Erin Houchin.
