(Franklin County, IN) – The Franklin County Public Library District is excited to host two writing workshops in November.

The first will be with author Gordon Korman, whose books have appeared at number one on the New York Times Best Seller list. Korman will be sharing his writing skills and tips at Brookville Library on Nov. 2 at 5 p.m.

Korman has a BFA degree from New York University with a major in Dramatic Writing and a minor in Film and TV. He has written over 100 books for kids and teens which have sold over 35 million copies worldwide.

Some of Korman’s impressive collection of books include Mixed Up, The Super Teacher Project, and Linked.

This writing workshop is the perfect opportunity to learn and hone in on those writing skills with an experienced author. Spots are limited, so please RSVP by calling Brookville Library at 765-647-4031.

Our second writing workshop will be with author Don Kaufman.

A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Kaufman retired from teaching in 2016 after having spent 50 years as an educator at all levels—from pre-K and grade school through college and graduate school.

Presently, Kaufman is an author and the managing partner of Berg Kaufman Publishing; he is also the Executive Director of The Oxford Society, a nonprofit organization he and his wife, Patricia, established in 2003.

Kaufman will be regaling patrons with tales of his books The Monkey Brothers: Adventures in Thailand and The Wisdom of John Prine came to be. He will also read some passages from each book, take questions and comments, and talk about his writing process and how it may help future authors in their writing endeavors.

Kaufman will be at Brookville Library on Nov. 10 at 5 p.m. and at Laurel Library on Nov. 14 at 6 p.m.
