Cindy Abrams is now endorsing her former primary opponent, incumbent mayor Bill Neyer.

(Harrison, Oh.) - A candidate for Mayor of Harrison is dropping out of the race.
City councilwoman Cindy Abrams was running against incumbent mayor Bill Neyer for the Republican nomination in the May 7th primary election.
Abrams announced Thursday, April 18 she will give up her run for mayor to instead run for the District 29 seat in the Ohio House of Representatives in 2020.
District 29, which covers much of wester Hamilton County, is currently held by State Representative Bill Blessing. Blessing is term-limited after being elected to the House four times.
“As a former police officer and current Harrison City Councilwoman, my goal has always been to serve the people of Hamilton County. The best way I can represent our area is at the State House, and I am honored to be running to be your State Representative,” Abrams said.
Abrams says she now fully endorses Neyer for Mayor of Harrison. With no opponent in the primary, Neyer could retain the mayor’s office in an uncontested election this year.
Abrams has also released a list of GOP endorsements for her statehouse run, including Blessing and Neyer. Other endorsements have come from Ohio House Speaker Larry Householder, Hamilton County Republican Party chairman Alex Triantafilou, and Harrison city council members Mike Mains, Ryan Grubbs, Mark Louis, Hank Menninger, Ethan Dole and Galindo.
