(Undated) - Nearly 1,000 Hoosiers have applied to FEMA for federal aid after tornadoes hit throughout southern Indiana on March 2.
As of Sunday, 926 people have applied for the aid, FEMA representative Greg Hughes told the Madison Courier.
Earlier this month, President Barack Obama approved federal individual assistance for tornado victims in Jefferson, Clark, Ripley, Scott, Vanderburgh and Warrick counties. So far, $736,000 has been given to those victims.
FEMA representatives have completed over 300 home damage assessments, Hughes said.
Storm victims who had property loss or damage from the March 2 tornadoes can still apply for aid through FEMA online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov.
