4th of July Celebrations in Eagle Country

Some will celebrate on the 4th, while others will celebrate before or after Independence Day, but there are plenty of 4th of July events to choose from this year in Eagle Country. A running list of area Independence Day celebrations are listed below.

SATURDAY, JUNE 28

AURORA

The City of Aurora will host their annual “Light Up Aurora” event at Gabbard Riverfront Park on Saturday, June 28. Sponsored by Main Street Aurora, the holiday event features a Cruise-In by River City Classics Car Club, beer garden, kids’ area, food and craft vendors, live entertainment (including performances by Kristine Kabbes & The Skallywags), and fireworks over the Ohio River. “Light Up Aurora” will take place from 6-10pm, followed by the fireworks beginning at 10pm. THURSDAY, JULY 3

BATESVILLE

Evening fireworks display at Hillcrest. Start time is approximately 9:45 p.m.

FLORENCE

Independence Day Celebration at the Florence Government Center from 5:30 to 10:30 PM. The evening will begin with a performance by the Florence Community Band at 5:30 p.m., followed by live music from “Under the Sun” at 7:00 p.m. Enjoy delicious food, a fun Kids Zone, and family-friendly activities leading up to a spectacular fireworks show by Elite Pyrotechnics at 10:00 p.m. In case of rain, the fireworks will be postponed to Friday, July 4.

MILAN

Dedication of the new water tower at 5:00 p.m. Food trucks at the park at 6:00. Fireworks at dusk.

 

FRIDAY, JULY 4

BATESVILLE

Pancakes at Liberty Park at 7:00 a.m. Four on the Fourth Run follows at 8 AM. The 4th of July Parade starts at 10 AM. Liberty Park activities including free ice cream cones runs until 3 PM. Eureka Band at Liberty Park starting at 8 PM. 

GREENDALE

The City of Greendale will host their annual Fourth of July Celebration on the July Fourth holiday itself. Enjoy a full day of activities at multiple locations in Greendale including a 5K Run/ Walk, kids’ fishing derby at Schnebelt Pond, kids’ bike parade, golf cart parade, live entertainment, beer garden, and a spectacular fireworks display capping off the evening at Greendale Park. HARRISON

4th of July Celebration and Parade at the Recreation Center Parade at 4:00 PM, P&G Big Band at 5:00, Cornhole Tournament at 6:00 (Registration 5:15–5:45 PM), Bad Habit Band at 7:00. Fireworks at dusk. Jerry Smith, a 99-year-old lifelong Harrison resident, will serve as this year’s Parade Grand Marshal. Enjoy food, live music, adult beverages, face painting, balloon artists, caricature artist, a bubble station, water misters, magician, and more!

HIDDEN VALLEY

Hidden Valley Lake in Indiana will be hosting its annual Fourth of July fireworks display staring at dusk. The fireworks will be launched from the Hidden Valley Lake dam. In addition to the fireworks, there will be other events like a boat parade and a family-friendly car show at Willie's

MILAN

Men's Methodist Breakfast from 7-9 AM. Parade at 10:00. Fire Department Chicken Dinner from 11 AM to 2 PM

 

SATURDAY, JULY 5

RISING SUN

Stars & Stripes Celebration from 4:00-10:30 PM. Ground activities presented by Ohio County Tourism, Inc. Arts & crafts, food trucks, Foam Zone by Foam Happy from 4-9pm on Second Street. Deejay J.D. Hughes. Foam Happy on Second Street in the Foam Zone. Fireworks presented by the City of Rising Sun and Rising Sun Lions Club at 10pm. Bands include the Jason Owens Band from 4-6pm and StrangeLove from 7-10pm.

SUNMAN

Holtkamp Winery & Vineyards, an estate winery that has been named “Indiana’s Farm Winery of the Year,” will host a July Fourth Weekend Celebration featuring live music, brick oven pizza, wine tasting, wine slushies, and craft beer on Saturday, July 5. The tasting room will be open from 12-10pm; brick oven pizza will be available from 1-9:30pm; and music by Josh Wells will run from 7-10pm. Info: www.facebook.com/holtkampwinery.

VERSAILLES

Fourth of July Fireworks over the Lake at Versailles State Park. Fireworks will begin at dusk. Free admission from 7pm-9pm. The Kona Ice truck will be here between 4-10 p.m.
