(Madison, Ind.) - There were vastly more protestors than KKK members in Madison during a Labor Day weekend demonstration.
The Madison Courier reports that a group called the Honorable Sacred Knights of the Ku Klux Klan held a rally at the city’s Jaycee Park on Saturday, September 1.
Around 12 to 15 Klan members attended, most of them wearing scarves covering their faces.
However, there were more than 200 protesters who came out for a counter demonstration. Many were locals, while others came from Bloomington or Louisville to oppose the KKK.
Several police agencies were present to keep the peace, including Indiana State Police, Madison Police, and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department.
