Deufol is preparing to let go dozens more employees after laying off nearly 250 last year.

(Sunman, Ind.) - A new round of layoffs are coming to a business in Sunman.
Deufol North America has submitted a WARN Notice to the Indiana Department of Workforce Development stating that 150 employees in Sunman will be let go. By law, businesses with at least 100 employees are required to submit WARN notices to the Indiana Department of Workforce Development when layoffs are performed.
The permanent layoffs are expected to happen between July 20 and August 3. The affected positions affect 28 packer positions and dozens of other personnel ranging from operators and engineers to accountants and various managers.
No union represents the employees and no bumping rights exist, the company said.
This follows Deufol’s layoff of 243 employees just last September. A company spokesman said that first round of layoffs were due to Deufol losing one of its largest customers, and this latest round is due to a continued decline in operational needs.
Deufol is a global packaging, logistics, and supply chain firm.
