Cohen Pardon Report Explained As Reference To Garth Brooks Song

Washington politics and country music collide.

(Undated)  --  The dispute between President Trump and his former lawyer Michael Cohen has a tie to country star Garth Brooks.

Last week, there were reports that attorney Bob Costello, who's friends with Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani, told Cohen that he may get a presidential pardon.

He reportedly told Cohen that he should sleep well, and that he had "friends in high places."

Costello told the "Daily Beast" it wasn't true, and that the "friends in high places" was actually a reference to Garth Brooks' "Friends In Low Places."

According to the "Daily Beast," Costello said he was just trying to be a decent human being to someone who appeared to be disturbed and perhaps suicidal.
