White, Koops, McFarland Among Harrison & Taylor Players to Earn All-State Honors

A total of eight Wildcats and Yellowjackets earned recognition from the OHSAA.

(Harrison, Oh.) – Five Harrison Wildcats and three Taylor Yellowjackets football stars have earned All-State honors.

The OHSAA released their Division I-V All-Ohio Teams this week. 

In Division II, Harrison defensive lineman Logan White was named All-State First Team, while running back Cole Koops made Second Team All-State. 

White, a junior, had a conference-high 15.5 sacks this fall and was among the top tacklers in the SWOC with 83.

Koops, a senior, led the Southwest Ohio Conference with 1,883 rushing yards and 19 touchdowns. He finished his high school career with 3,812 yards and 41 touchdowns.

Quarterback Dickie Engel (Sr.), wide receiver Josh Adelsperger (Jr.) and offensive lineman Colby Quinlan (Jr.) received Honorable Mention.

Engel threw for 2,114 yards and 30 touchdowns and rushed for 294 yards and five scores. Adelsperger was his top target with 49 receptions for 956 yards and 13 touchdowns.

In Division IV, Taylor junior wide receiver Aaron McFarland was a First Team All-State selection. He caught 74 passes for 1,081 yards and 15 touchdowns.

Senior defensive back Grant Ferguson was a Second Team All-State selection, while junior defensive lineman Mike Branch made Third Team All-State.

Ferguson finished the season with 67 tackles, including 15 for a loss, two forced fumbles, and two interceptions.

Branch made 79 tackles. He lived in the opposition’s backfield with 18 tackles for a loss and seven sacks, while forcing two fumbles.
