Powner, West Earn EIAC Volleyball Co-MVP Honors

Seventeen players were selected to the All-Conference Team.

(Batesville, Ind.) - The Eastern Indiana Athletic Conference has named the top volleyball players for the 2024 season. 

Seventeen players earned All-Conference honors including four from conference champion Batesville (7-0). The Lady Bulldogs were led by EIAC Co-MVP Ava Powner. She finished the season with 551 assists, 208 digs and 90 aces. 

Teammates Reesa Zimmerman, Sophie Gesell, and Maddie Haskamp also earned all-conference honors. Zimmerman, a Florida International University commit, totaled 413 kills, 339 receptions, 247 digs and 54 aces. Gesell and Haskamp were the top two blockers on the team and finished with 244 and 127 kills, respectively. 

Second place Greensburg had three all-conference selections, including Co-MVP Leah West. The Pirates' senior finished the season with 305 kills, 51 aces, 44 blocks, and 110 digs.

Lawrenceburg's three all-conference selections were Natalie Knigga, Bryleigh Boyd and Trinity Taylor. Knigga and Taylor were the Tigers' top attackers with 334 and 218 kills, respectively. Boyd was the team leader in digs (446), while Taylor led in assists (510)

South Dearborn's top two attackers earned all-conference. Kelsey Clyde finished with 322 kills, and Carli Walter had 208. Walter added 100 aces, 230 digs, and 461 receptions. Clyde had 53 aces, 242 digs, and 405 receptions. 

East Central had two all-conference selections in Elizabeth Hudnall (213 kills, 67 blocks, 172 digs, 201 receptions) and Eva Steinmetz (199 kills, 32 aces, 128 digs, 124 receptions).

Batesville's Kateri Paul was named the Coach of the Year.
