Seven Spring Sports Stars Earn ORVC Weekly Honors

(Southeast Indiana) - The ORVC Report for March 25-30 and April 1-8 was released on Wednesday.

Seven student athletes from five schools earned Player of the Week honors.

March 25-30

Baseball Player of the Week – Jamison Lewis (Southwestern)

  • 7 hits, 6 runs, 4 RBI, HR, SR / 12 IP, 8 hits, 20 K’s going 2-0

Softball Player of the Week – Lexi Wert (Milan)

  • 23.2 IP, 12 hits, 5 runs, 2 ER, 28 K’s going 4-0 in week

April 1-8

Baseball Player of the Week – Jackson Sparks (Switzerland County)

  • 4.2 IP, 3 hits, 2 runs, 10 K in win / 3 runs, 2 hits, RBI, 3 SB in two games

Softball Player of the Week – Alyssa Simpson (Rising Sun)

  • 12 IP, run, ER, 18 K, going 2-0

Milan’s Jackson Voss was named the ORVC Boys Golfer for the weeks of March 27-April 1 and April 3-8. He carded at 42 at Hidden Valley.

Jac-Cen-Del’s Johnathan Norman and Emma Wagner are the Track & Field Performers of the Week. Norman recorded a 40’4” shot put and 13.53 in the 100 meters. Wagner tallied a 44’4” discus throw, 4’6” high jump and 1:25.79 in the 400 meters.
