ORVC Announces Weekly Award Winners for April 10-15

Student-athletes from Switzerland County, South Ripley, Milan, and Rising Sun were honored.

(Vevay, Ind.) - The ORVC Report for the week of April 10-15 was released on Tuesday.

Switzerland County’s Jackson Sparks and South Ripley’s Mason McNew were named the Baseball Players of the Week.

Sparks collected 6 RBI, 5 hits, 2 stolen bases and a double in four games. He also tossed seven innings, striking out eight in a win.

For McNew, he earned weekly honors following a complete-game, three-hitter against Oldenburg Academy. He struck out 14, allowing one run.

Milan freshman Kynadee Bode is the ORVC Softball Player of the Week. The Lady Indians star went 3-0 in the pitching circle last week. She tossed 18 innings, giving up only four earned runs, while striking out 25.

At the plate, Bode knocked in eight runs on eight hits, including four doubles and a home run.

Rising Sun’s Nate Elliott is the Boys Golfer of the Week. He carded a 36 at North Branch.

Milan’s Ben Riehle and South Ripley’s Emily Flood are the ORVC Track & Field Performers of the Week.
