9-Year-Old from Bright Qualifies for Prestigious Amateur National Motocross Championship

(Bright, Ind.) - A young man who calls Bright, Indiana home will compete at the world’s largest and most prestigious amateur motocross events in August.

Luke Shelton, 9, has qualified for the 41st annual Monster Energy AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship.

The event will be held Monday, August 1 through Saturday, August 6 at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee.

Shelton will compete in the Micro 3 (7-8) Limited Division, where he will race against the top riders in the world in his class. He is scheduled to race on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, August 2,5 and 6.

Shelton currently ranks among the top 42 riders in his class and has a first-place finish back in January at an event in San Diego.
