IHSAA 3A Sectional 29 at Franklin County – First Round

Batesville 2, Lawrenceburg 1 – 13 innings

 

IHSAA 2A Sectional 45 at Milan – Semi-Finals

Milan 10, South Ripley 0 – Taylor Amberger and Lexi Wert led Milan to the win. Wert was 2-for-3 with a double and 3 RBI. Amberger went 2-for-4 with 3 RBI. Milan advances to Wednesday’s sectional championship game on Wednesday, May 23 against Southwestern.

TRACK & FIELD

IHSAA Girls Track & Field Regional at Shelbyville South Ripley’s Megan Cole became a regional champion in the 3200 meter run at the IHSAA regional meet at Shelbyville on Tuesday. The Raiders sophomore beat the field with a time of 11:26.76.

The East Central 4x800 meter relay team qualified for the state meet by placing third in the event with a time of 9:45.28. So did EC’s Mary Bertke, who was second in the pole vault at 9’ 10”. EC came in third in the regional meet team standings behind champion Warren Central and second-place Center Grove.

South Dearborn’s Eva Quinlan was also a regional champ. She took the 300 meter hurdles crown with an impressive time of 45.07.
