The IHSAA Girls Basketball State Tournament tipped off on Tuesday night.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Class 4A Sectional 14 at Shelbyville - First Round 

Columbus East 60, East Central 50 - The Lady Trojans finish the season with a 15-11 record. 

  • Laney Baker (EC): 24 points

*Columbus East moves on to play Shelbyville in the semi-finals. Franklin will play Whiteland on the other half of the bracket. 

 

Class 3A Sectional 29 at Rushville - First Round 

Connersville 52, South Dearborn 45 (Eagle Country 99.3 Feature Game) - The Lady Knights finish the season with a 5-19 record.

  • Addison Jones (CONN): 16 points
  • Jacey Willhelm (CONN): 11 points
  • Bernadette Wismann (SD): 11 points
  • Natalie Rupp (SD): 11 points

*Connersville will play Lawrenceburg in the first semi-final on Friday (6:00 PM). The game will air on Eagle Country 99.3. 

 

Class 2A Sectional 45 at Switzerland County - First Round

South Ripley 41, North Decatur 35 

*The Lady Raiders advance to play Switzerland County in the semi-finals. Hauser and Milan will play in the other semi-final. 

 

Class 1A Sectional 60 at Southwestern (Shelbyville) - First Round

Jac-Cen-Del 64, Waldron 19

*The Lady Eagles will play Southwestern (Shelbyville) in the semi-finals. 

 

Class 1A Sectional 62 at Rising Sun - First Round 

Rising Sun 62, Medora 19

*The Lady Shiners advance to play New Washington in the semi-finals. Trinity Lutheran and Crothersville on the other half of the bracket.
