JCD's Meyer Named Girls Basketball Player of the Week, Milan Wins Conference Swim Meet

(Milan, Ind.) – Three student-athletes have earned weekly honors from the Ohio River Valley Conference, while Milan is being celebrated as ORVC Swim Champs.

The ORVC Report for January 8-13 was released on Tuesday.

Jac-Cen-Del senior Julia Meyer and Shawe Memorial standout Allison Knoebel were named the ORVC Girls Basketball Players of the Week.

Meyer was a shoo-in for the weekly award after a 30-point performance in a win against Lawrenceburg. She added 23 points in a win over Southwestern Shelbyville.

Knoebel totaled 49 points, 14 assists, and 10 rebounds in two games.

Phillip Kahn of Shawe Memorial is the ORVC Boys Basketball Player of the Week. He tallied 40 points, including seven made threes in one game.

Milan was recognized in the report for winning the Boys and Girls ORVC Swim Championships. Event winners included:

  • Dylan Thomas – 100 Yard Free, 100 Yard Back
  • Parley Hartwell – 100 Yard Breast
  • Boys 200 Yard Free Relay – Dylan Thomas, Ayden Potts, Gabe Rigdon, Liam Horton
  • Boys 200 Yard Medley Relay – Dylan Thomas, JJ Mutz, Liam Horton, Parley Hartwell
  • Emilee Knueven – 500 Yard Free
  • Girls 400 Yard Free Relay – Molly Knecht, Maggie Hudepohl, Macey Hansen, Emilee Knueven
