East Central, Lawrenceburg Football Recognized at Annual Griddy Awards

INDIANAPOLIS – High school football players and teams were honored over the weekend in Indianapolis.

Indiana Football Digest hosted their annual Griddy Awards on Sunday at the Indianapolis Colts complex.

Among the honorees were student-athletes from East Central and Lawrenceburg high schools.

East Central running back Josh Ringer was named to the Prime Time 25 list for 2023. The 25 players selected will be featured on the cover of the 2023 Indiana Football Digest.

Ringer, a Miami (Oh.) commit, had a huge junior season as he rushed for 2,368 yards and 38 touchdowns.

247 Sports lists Ringer as the 24th best prospect in Indiana for the Class of 2024.

East Central was recognized during the State Champions Honor Roll, in addition to being recognized as the Class 4A Team of the Year. 

Lawrenceburg Tigers head coach Ryan Knigga was named the Class 3A Coach of the Year after leading the Tigers to state runner-up in 3A. seniors Colton Roth and Jacob Pierce, and sophomore Ryan Hinthorne were recognized as members of the Small School All-State Team.

Lawrenceburg football was also named the Class 3A Team of the Year.
