The EIAC Middle School Conference Meet took place Monday in Greensburg.
(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – Greendale Middle School’s boys cross country team made history on Monday night.
They captured the EIAC Conference Championship at Greensburg, in addition to having five runners advance to the state finals in Terre Haute this Saturday. They are Coleman Hughes, Henry Gilliland, Miles Lightner, Brenden Wurtzler and Jude Noppert
Greendale narrowly edged out Greensburg for the conference title, 61 to 66.
The varsity team was led by Coleman Hughes. He finished fifth overall with a time of 11:53.0. Henry Gilliland, Miles Lightner, Elijah Noppert, Brenden Wurtzler, Emery Ricketts and Jude Noppert each placed in the top 25 out of 63 runners.
Liam Reade was the overall winner in the JV race followed by teammates Hunter Jones and Kaiden Dugan.
Aaliyah Robinson and Ryleigh Shepard had great performances for the girls team.
