Eleven Move On In Knights Of Columbus Free Throw Competition

The district competition was held this past weekend at St. Lawrence School in Lawrenceburg.

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Eleven area sharpshooters have advanced to the next round of the statewide Knights of Columbus Free Throw Competition. 

The district competition was held at St. Lawrence School in Lawrenceburg on Saturday. Each contestant attempted 15 free throws with the top scorers in each gender and age division advance to a regional competition. 

The six boys who advanced to the regional were Mason Bascom, Grady Walter, Noah Rogers, Noah Bruce, Nate Elliot and Peyton Merica. On the girls side, Audrey Mears, Avery Elliot, Reese Merica, Julia Meyer and Macy Collier made enough free throws to advance to the regional competition. 

The regional competition will take place in two weeks time in Scottsburg, where shooters have an opportunity to earn passage to the state finals.
