EC's Lewis, Kraus Named EIAC Soccer MVPs

The 2024 All-Conference Team was released this week.

(St. Leon, Ind.) - Twenty-six high school soccer stars have earned All-Conference recognition from the Eastern Indiana Athletic Conference. 

Conference champion East Central (7-0) had six all-conference selections, including Offensive MVP Brennan Lewis and Defensive MVP Caleb Kraus. 

Lewis totaled 26 goals and six assists this was, earning a Third-Team All-State selection. Kraus anchored a Trojans' defense that surrendered 21 goals in 18 matches. They were joined on the All-Conference Team by Brady Hartman, Jacob Gagnon, Nathan McFee, and Owen Trent.

Second place Connersville had five selections. Mitchell Steele was a goal scoring machine with 32 goals. Kaden Mapes added 22 goals for the Spartans

Lawrenceburg and Batesville each had four all-conference selections. Bulldogs' star Simon Berkemeier was one of the top goal scorers in the conference with 21. 

Greensburg, Franklin County and South Dearborn each had two all-conference selections, while Rushville had one. 

East Central head coach BJ Black was named the Coach of the Year.

Greensburg (3-4) - Cy Miller, Jacob Schneider

Franklin County (2-5) - Italo Boaventura, Dalton Ward

South Dearborn (2-5) - Nicholas Wismann, Dakota Cochran

Rushville (0-7) - Colton England
