EC Places 12 On 2018 EIAC Boys Track & Field All-Conf. Team

Franklin County's Mitchell Orschell took home MVP honors.

(St. Leon, Ind.) – Over half of the 2018 EIAC Boys Track & Field All-Conference Team is comprised of East Central Trojans, but the conference MVP came from Franklin County. 

It was a great season for the Trojans, winning the EIAC Conference Meet and a sectional title. The Trojans were led by all-conference selections: Garrett Ardis, Scott Jackson, Kaleb Geisen, Kameron Geisen, Erik Perkins, Alex Hornbach, Keiton Goeldner, Logan Storie, Chase Ludwig, Alex Ketcham, Keegan Moster and Malichi Studer.

At the conference meet, the Trojans earned first-place finishes from the 4x800 meter relay team, 4x100 meter relay team, the 4x400 meter relay team, Nathan Griffin in the 400 meter dash at 54.57, and Malachi Studer in the boys high jump at 6’ 2”.

East Central Coach Tom Harris was named the 2018 EIAC Boys Track & Field Coach of the Year. 

Second-place Franklin County put two on the all-conference team, including 2018 EIAC MVP Mitchell Orschell. The speedster won three events at the conference meet: the 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash and the long jump. State finalists Cody Moore was also named to the all-conference team.

Lawrenceburg had three all-conference selections, including Noah Steuer and state finalists Mason Parris and Eyan Peelman.

Other's on the all-conference squad include Rushville's Keith Hallgarth, Batesville's Joshua Myers and South Dearborn's Samuel Gabbard.
