(New Castle, Ind.) – The East Central Lady Trojans varsity basketball team has been selected to participate in a prestigious event, spotlighting the best in Indiana high school basketball.

The Girls’ Raymond James Hall of Fame Classic takes place on Thursday, December 29 at New Castle Fieldhouse

East Central will play the defending Class 4A state champion Noblesville, while perennial powerhouses Bedford North Lawrence and Mishawaka Marian make up the rest of the four-team tournament.

The format will include two first round games, consolation round and championship game.

This will be East Central’s first appearance in the 39-year history of the Girls’ Hall of Fame Classic.

East Central has become one of the top programs in the state under head coach Kevin Moore. The Lady Trojans have won 16 or more games in 10 straight seasons.

In February, the Lady Trojans captured their third-consecutive sectional championship in Class 4A.

East Central will lose a strong senior class, led by Indiana All-Star guard Hope Fox, Ashley Nobbe, Avery Daniels, Hailey May, and Makenzie Vignale.

The Trojans will reload in 2022-23 with Indiana Junior All-Star Josie Trabel, Laney Baker, Julia Tiemann, and Caitlyn Dick leading the charge.
