(Batesville, Ind.) – For Bobby Weiler, playing college football is a dream come true.
The Batesville High School senior announced Monday via social media that he will continue his academic and athletic career at the University of Saint Francis in Fort Wayne.
Weiler, a defensive lineman and tight end, played a key role in a great season for the Bulldogs that saw them win the EIAC Small School Division and a Class 3A Sectional title.
He finished the season with 55 tackles, including a team-high 13.5 tackles for a loss, three sacks, 10 hurries, two caused fumbles, and a fumble recovery.
Offensively, Weiler was mostly used as a blocker, but he did catch eight passes for 135 yards and a touchdown.
He joins a Saint Francis roster that includes former Lawrenceburg Tigers star Garrett Yoon.
