Windy Saturday Caused Lots Of Power Outages

Utility companies saw thousands of customers lose service as windy weather blew in.

(Osgood, Ind.) - It was a busy weekend for local electric linemen.

Some gusty winds on Saturday evening were strong enough to knock down a number of tree branches.

Southeastern Indiana REMC had at least 1,300 outages reported Saturday night. All those customers affected by outages saw their service restored Sunday.

As of Monday morning, Duke Energy is still reporting just a handful of outages in the Harrison area as a result of Saturday’s wind. The company’s outages in the tri-state had reached over 40,000 customers.
