(Aurora, Ind.) - High winds knocked out power for many residents in southeast Indiana Wednesday.
Residents in southern Dearborn County and Ohio County lost their service when the winds kicked up.
At one point, Duke Energy reported more than 1,500 outages in Dearborn County while REMC had a few hundred more.
Winds are still gusting up to 40 MPH as of Thursday morning, but will settle by the afternoon as a cold front moves in, according to the National Weather Service.
