Walton Man Struck and Killed by Train

(Walton, Ky.) – One person was struck and killed by a train on Friday morning in Boone County.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to the incident in the 11000 block of Dixie Highway in Walton around 8:54 a.m.

Responding deputies walked the tracks and located Michale John Allison, 35, of Walton.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Allison was walking north on the tracks when, while sounding its horn, a Norfolk Southern locomotive approached and ultimately struck him.

Allison sustained fatal injuries as a result of the collision and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
