(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Effects of an ice storm Friday night are carrying over into this week.
Franklin County Community Schools are on a two-hour delay Monday as some roads there are still less than ideal.
Franklin County is on an Orange (level two) travel emergency today after being at the most serious Red (level three) Saturday. Ripley County is currently at Yellow, or level one, according to the Indiana Department of Homeland Security.
The color-coded travel emergency system has been adopted by all 92 Indiana counties this year.
Saturday’s icy conditions were widely melted off by a warmer Sunday, although icy roads persisted long enough to cancel many local church services. Overnight temperatures into Monday reached 50 degrees, accompanied by some strong thunderstorms.
The National Weather Service still has the tri-state under a Wind Advisory from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday. Gusts could reach up to 50 MPH.
Monday temperatures will peak at about 54 degrees during the late morning before falling again into the 30s.
