(Versailles, Ind.) – An Indiana State Police–Versailles Troopers has been promoted to Sergeant.
ISP Superintendent Douglas Carter announced Monday the promotion of Matthew “Joe” Loyd to the rank of sergeant to serve as an Investigative Squad Leader at the ISP-Versailles Post.
Loyd, a 1999 Greensburg High School graduate, was selected for the position after an extremely competitive promotion process that involved a written exam, oral interview, and review of past work history.
Loyd graduated from the 64th Indiana State Police Recruit Academy in October 2004 and was assigned to the ISP-Versailles Post where he primarily patrolled Decatur County.
He was reassigned in 2012 as a detective working criminal cases.
In his new role, Sgt. Loyd will be responsible for supervising a squad of detectives and criminal investigations at the Versailles Post.
