UPDATE: Student Charged For School Fire

A student is being charged with Arson after setting a fire Wednesday morning inside a bathroom at Conner Middle School.

 

Boone County Sheriff’s deputies said the fire was set intentionally in a trash can in the bathroom about 9:00 a.m. It was quickly put out by a school resource office.

 

Soon afterwards, detectives determined the cause was intentional.

 

Police narrowed the suspects to three students with a 12-year-old sixth grader finally admitting to setting the blaze.

 

Following the fire, middle school students were taken to nearby Conner High School.  Parents were notified the middle school students would be dismissed early, and students who can’t be picked up will remain at the high school until the usual let out time.

 

Nobody was hurt in the fire.

(Hebron, Ky.) – Conner Middle School in Hebron was forced to evacuate Wednesday morning after a fire inside the building.

 

The fire was reported at about 9:00 a.m. in a boys bathroom. Hebron firefighters arrived to extinguish the small blaze.

 

Middle school students were taken to nearby Conner High School.

 

Boone County Schools officials say because of the situation, students will be dismissed from Conner High School beginning at 10:30 a.m.

 

A cause of the fire has not been determined.
