Two Vehicles Damaged, One Driver Injured By Objects Thrown From Passing Vehicle

The two separate incidents happened on Tuesday afternoon near Brookville.

(Brookville, Ind.) – The Franklin County Sheriff’s Department are investigating after two vehicles were damaged and one drive was injured as result of objects being thrown from a passing vehicle.

Sheriff’s deputies were called to the first scene on U.S. 52, just east of Brookville, on Tuesday around 4:45 p.m.

It was reported that an unknown vehicle was westbound on U.S. 52, when an occupant threw a Gatorade bottle through the windshield of an eastbound delivery van.

The driver, Garrett Rauch, 30, of Brookville, suffered minor injuries from broken windshield glass.

A similar incident took place a short time later on State Road 101 near the entrance of the Brookville Dam. Another delivery van was damaged by an object that was thrown from a passing vehicle.

The first victim described the vehicle as lighter in color, while the second victim described the vehicle as a tan passenger car, similar to a Ford Taurus or Mercury Sable.
