Two Dogs Trapped Inside Home Fire

Firefighters kept the fire contained to a single bedroom.

(Aurora, Ind.) - A home fire broke out at approximately 12:56 p.m. in the 100 block of Sherman Street in Aurora. 

Two dogs were trapped inside the house. 

One dog ran outside upon arrival of firefighters. The other was found unresponsive before he was resuscitated and taken by Red Cross to be cared for.

Fire damage was kept contained to a bedroom, but smoke damage was severe throughout the house.

Assisting the Aurora Fire Department was Lawrenceburg, Greendale, Rising Sun, and Dillsboro Fire Departments. Aurora Life squad was also on the scene and Manchester Fire Department was on standby.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
