Two Area Communities Receive Quality Of Place Grants

The grants will fund projects that will help build stronger communities and enhance the distinctive character of Indiana communities.

(Indianapolis, Ind.) – Two area communities have been awarded OCRA grants.

On Thursday, the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs announced it has awarded more than $59,000 to 13 communities and organizations for quality of place initiatives through the Quick Impact Placebased Grant.

The City of Lawrenceburg received $4,800 that will fund the purchase of two permanent chess/checkers tables for Newtown Park.

The OCRA also awarded $5,000 to the City of Madison, which will allow local artists’ artwork to be displayed on street light banners throughout the city’s historical district.

“This grant rewards creativity, ingenuity and collaboration with the end result leaving a lasting impression on communities and the Hoosiers who live there for years to come,” said Jodi Golden, Executive Director of ORCA. “These projects will help build stronger communities and enhance the distinctive character of local Indiana places for positive outcomes.”
