Tip Leads To Suspected Burglar's Arrest

(Milan, Ind.) – A concerned citizen helped police catch a Milan man accused of burglarizing an automotive shop.

Last Friday, March 23 during the early morning hours, the resident called police when they saw suspicious activity at Bob’s Service Station in Osgood.

Deputies came to investigate and found the shop had been burglarized. They soon located Brandon Eldridge, of Milan, in the area.

Stolen property was located and recovered following Eldridge’s arrest.

Eldridge, 18, is charged with Burglary and Theft. He was booked into the Ripley County Jail.

“My officers are doing a fine job.  I am also happy that a concerned citizen witnessed the activity and called the Sheriff’s Office.  Even though it was an anonymous call, it led to the arrest of a suspect,” said Ripley County Sheriff Tom Grills.

People can use the sheriff’s office non-emergency crime tip line at 1-855-812-DRUG (3784), or during overnight hours call Ripley County Communications at (812) 689-5555. Callers can remain anonymous.

“I want to remind everyone that with the launch of the new tip line for the county, do not replace that with the calling the Sheriff’s Office or the State Police in an emergency.  Our communication phones are monitored 24/7. If this person would have called the tip line, this case may have not been solved,” Grills said.
