The blaze broke out early Sunday morning

(Switzerland County, Ind.) - Jeff Craig Fire Department responded to a structure fire early Sunday morning.
The blaze broke out at a home on Main Cross Street in Vevay around 4:40 a.m.
Upon arrival, crews found heavy fire conditions pushing through the residence. The home was a total loss and some nearby homes sustained damage to exterior siding.
According to JCFD, they experienced a mechanical failure on Engine 3 followed by a broken water main on the primary hydrant.
No injuries were reported.
A cause remains under investigation.
Switzerland County Emergency Response, East Enterprise Fire Department, Moorefield Community Fire Department, Vevay Utilities Switz gas co, Duke Energy, Switzerland County Sheriff’s Office and the Vevay Police Department assisted at the scene.
