Suspect in Custody After Armed Robbery Attempt at Hollywood Casino

Update published Monday, March 4 at 9:07 a.m.: 

The suspect in Saturday's armed robbery attempt at Hollywood Casino has been identified. Daniel Birdseye, 39, of Cincinnati, was taken into custody shortly after the incident after fleeing into the Oxbow area. 

He is currently held in Dearborn County Jail on one count of Robbery While Armed with a Deadly Weapon. 

Further details regarding the incident have not been released at this time. 

 

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - One person is in custody after an attempted armed robbery at Hollywood Casino Lawrenceburg. 

According to Sheriff Shane McHenry, the incident occurred around 7:40 p.m.

The suspect was taken into custody after fleeing the casino into the Oxbow area. The suspect was located by local law enforcement with the assistance of the Boone County Sheriff's Office and their drone. 

Sheriff McHenry reports there were injuries during the incident, but he is unable to confirm how the injuries happened and the identities of the individuals injured. 

The investigation is being handled by the Indiana Gaming Commission.
