Sunman Rural Fire Department's 9/11 Walk to Remember Open to the Public

Firefighters will walk over three miles in full turnout gear.

(Sunman, Ind.) – On Wednesday, September 11, the Sunman Rural Fire Department will honor the 343 firefighters who gave their lives during the September 11, 2001, terror attacks.

Each September, Sunman Rural Fire Department hosts a walk of remembrance to honor the lives of over 2,000 Americans who fell victim to the attacks.

Firefighters will be walking 3.43 miles in full turnout gear.

The event is open to the public.

Those interested in joining the walk should meet at the Sunman Firehouse around 5:30 p.m. on September 11.

The walk will begin at 6:00.
