Sunman Man Arrested After Multi-County Chase

The chase took place along I-74 on Thursday evening.

(Greensburg, Ind.) - A Sunman man has been arrested after a multi-county pursuit.

Greensburg Police initiated a traffic stop Thursday evening on Vandalia Road. 

Police say the driver identified himself as Henry Smith before fleeing eastbound on Interstate 74 towards Cincinnati. During the course of the pursuit, numerous law enforcement agencies attempted to use tire deflation devices on Smith's vehicle. 

The attempt was successful, stopping Smith's vehicle near Harrison. 

Through the course of the investigation, police learned Smith's name is Henry Thomas Smith-Haas. 

Smith-Haas is charged with Resisting Law Enforcement, Operating While Intoxicated, Battery Against a Law Enforcement Officer, Reckless Driving, and Criminal Recklessness. 

He has held in Decatur County Jail.
