Dearborn County EMA Releases Weather Event Details

Crews are working to make sure everyone is accounted for, to restore electric and clear roadways.

(Dearborn County, Ind.) –At approximately 3:00 PM on August 11 a large and powerful storm entered into the northern part of Dearborn County and traveled southeast blanketing all of the county.

This proved to be a significant weather event that caused significant utility line damage, tree damage, and some structural damage.

At this time emergency responders have been working to verify everyone is safe and accounted for along with ensuring roadways and utilities are secured. At this time, Dearborn County EMA is not aware of any fatalities or injuries that resulted from the storm.

Due to almost the entire county taking some sort of damages, cleanup is expected to be extensive. Utility crews are working to restore electric to all areas.

Motorists should use extreme caution on all roadways as many have limbs and leaves covering them. In addition, motorists are urged not to drive around barriers
