(Sunman, Ind.) – An act of kindness is a choice and for a group of St. Nicholas School students, it was an easy one to make.
After hearing a schoolmate was being hospitalized and diagnosed with juvenile diabetes, Nolan Maple decided he wanted to do something nice, but what he wanted to do was something he couldn't accomplish alone.
“I saw a Kindle at the church picnic that needed 300 prize tickets to win, so I went around to all my friends and kids from school and asked if they wanted to add their tickets to mine to get the Kindle,” said Maple.
Each winning game received an average of two tickets, but it didn’t take the kids long to win the device for their classmate.
One parent commented, “That is just the St. Nicholas way.”
