Southwest Local Schools Earn "Who Dey Snow Day"

The day off from school was earned by raising thousands of dollars for the Sam Hubbard Foundation.

(Harrison, Oh.) – It will be a “Who Dey Snow Dey” for Southwest Local Schools on Monday, February 14.

Last week, the school district challenged staff and students to raise $9,400 for the Sam Hubbard Foundation to receive a day off school following Super Bowl Sunday.

The fundraising effort was a great success, as the school district raised over $26,000 by the deadline last Friday. The donation link was kept up over the weekend, and Southwest Schools announced today that the fundraising goals has been tripled at $31,576.

According to Mike Morris, director of facilities and communication, donations came in from as far as Arizona and New York.
