Some Slick Roads, Frigid Temps Friday

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - This Friday the 13th is off to a very chilly start.

The high temperature is expected to reach only 23 degrees, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington. Wind chills are in the single digits as a steady breeze blows 20 to 25 MPH with gusts up to 40 MPH.

The frigid temperatures may lead to ice on some area roads as the wind blows snow across the highways.

Many area road crews worked through the night treating roads, but we’ve still heard of several slick spots. Motorists have reported some icy patches on State Road 101 between Sunman and Negangard Corner, as well as Interstate 74.

The weather service has the entire tri-state under a Winter Weather Advisory until noon Friday.

Meteorologists expect up to a half-inch of snow today, with another half-inch possible overnight.
